Martin Onovo, a former Presidential candidate of the defunct National Conscience Party, NCP, has revealed that the only way to defeat President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2027 general election is through a strong alliance of opposition parties against the ruling party.
Onovo noted that the coalition will win the 2027 general election with 99 % votes if it’s not self- sabotaged.
He spoke during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, on Monday in Lagos.
“The coalition will win the 2027 election with 99% votes if it’s not self- sabotaged,” Onovo said.
“Take it to bank, it’ll not fail, it’ll succeed and defeat the ruling party convincingly, if they do it well.
“If the coalition isn’t self-sabotaged, it’ll be difficult for APC to return in 2027.”
Recall that Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President of Nigeria, has been championing the coalition.
The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had confirmed holding talks with Labour Party’s Peter Obi and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, who recently defected from the APC to the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
Meanwhile, a former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, recently said the current coalition plans will boos Tinubu’s bid for re-election rather than challenge it.
Sowore stated this when he played host to Channels Television’s Politics Today, adding that the efforts by the coalition lack vision and ideology.
