HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation (HELVETAS)
is a Swiss international non-governmental organization (INGO) actively
contributing to the improvement of the economically poor and socially
disadvantaged people in more than 33 developing countries across Africa,
Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. HELVETAS has its head office
in Switzerland (www.helvetas.org) and is one of the most experienced and
largest development organizations in Switzerland.

Swiss Intercooperation (HELVETAS) is an international NGO registered in
Tanzania, with operations beginning in the 1970s. Its interventions
focus on three main working areas: Skills, Jobs & Income (SJI),
Water, Food & Climate (WFC), and Voice, Inclusion & Cohesion
(VIC).
HELVETAS Tanzania, in partnership with the University of
Bern (Switzerland), University of Zambia, and Ruaha Catholic University
(Tanzania), is receiving funding from the EU Global Gateway through the
Finnish National Agency for Education for the implementation of its
1.5-year project named the Regional Teachers’ Initiative for Africa
(RTIA). This project is being carried out in Tanzania (Dodoma, Morogoro,
Iringa, and Njombe regions) and Zambia.
The overall objective
of the project is to conduct education research through a Randomized
Control Trial (RCT) to assess the effectiveness of two scaling
approaches (peer-to-peer cascading and training of trainers cascading
approaches) in improving teaching practices for teachers in Tanzania and
Zambia.This will be done through the
application of the School-Based In-Service Teachers Training (SITT)
model, a proven model to strengthen teachers’ professional development
and mentorship.

Tanzania, for its RTIA project, invites applications from qualified and
dynamic Tanzanian citizens to fill the following positions. Qualified
candidates will be posted or stationed in the respective project
regions:
- Project Manager
- Finance and Administration Officer
Duration: 1.5 years upon successful performance and availability of funding
