Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa assured the nation that the government had taken measures to protect Zimbabweans and provide the nation with food despite the impending drought. This was reported by

Addressing the residents of the country, the president said that state officials had taken measures to mitigate the effects of the drought.
He said that the government has taken measures through the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water Resources, and Rural Development to ensure the food security of our communities.
These communities include solar-powered community gardens and a winter wheat program. Through the Ministry of Finance, resources will be directed towards ensuring food security.
Speaking on the need to uphold national values, President Mnangagwa also praised First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa for her empowerment initiatives, which included the adoption of national attire.
Emmerson Mnangagwa underlined that it is important for Zimbabweans to remember their history and culture. They are appreciative of the First Lady’s numerous cultural preservation initiatives. Once more, she advocated for national attire, which Zimbabwean government has accepted as it defines people as Zimbabweans.
In the near future, all the forces of the government will be directed to combat the drought in order to provide the nation with all the necessary resources.
