Victims of recent unsolved murders in Miami were both set to celebrate birthdays in July

MIAMI – Andre Mitchell and Treyshawn Wright had a lot in common.

Both young men were victims of fatal day-light shootings on the same day in Miami. They both have a page on the National Gun Violence Memorial and Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers was offering rewards for help with solving either case.

Wright was shot on Monday in Liberty City, also known as Model City. He was 20 and had it not been for the shooting at about 12:30 p.m., near Northwest Seventh Avenue and 58 Street, he would have celebrated his 21st birthday on July 28.

Mitchell was also shot on Monday but in Little Haiti. He was 24. Surveillance video captured the shootout at about 6:45 p.m., near Northwest Second venue and 52 Street. He would have celebrated his 25th birthday on July 25.

According to Miami-Dade County court records, Wright and Mitchell had arrest records. Wright had been accused of second-degree murder late last year, but the case was dropped in January. Mitchell was supposed to be on probation until Aug. 6, 2027. Both cases were related to armed robberies.

Detectives believe both murders were related to a feud between local gangs. They asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
