CAP-HAITIEN — In Petite Anse, a desperate cry for security echoes through the neighborhood as some residents plead with authorities to open a police station amidst a surge in armed robberies. The pressing demand for enhanced security arose in the aftermath of the tragic killing of police officer Rémy Cyncé, which left his wife injured during a robbery attempt.
“I’m more scared of my neighborhood now,” Tedson Massion, a guitarist, said to The Haitian Times. “When the clock hits a certain time I go home because I’m afraid. Building a police station would be great, that would make us feel a bit safer.”
