The St James police are crediting its Beat Officer Patrol Division, BOPD, for playing a major role in the recent apprehension of two suspects who are linked to a murder in the parish.
Superintendent Eron Samuels is the Commanding Officer in St James.
The Beat Officer Patrol Division was expanded to Montego Bay, last month.
The division, which falls under the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch, PSTEB, forms part of the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s move to bolster public safety and strengthen community policing efforts.
Superintendent Samuels says the division has also helped to provide safer patrols for students travelling to and from school.
