The scandal news

The Canadian Olympic Committee (OCC) has suspended the country’s women’s soccer coach, Bev Priestman, from the remainder of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, citing “new revelations” in the drone scandal. Canada is the last Olympic champion in women’s soccer.

“In the past 24 hours, we have received additional information regarding the prior use of drones against opponents, prior to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games,” Canada Soccer CEO Kevin Blue said in a statement Thursday.

Paris 2024 is making history

  1. Let us remember that the 2024 Olympic Games will be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
  2. Paris will be the main host city, but there will also be events in other French cities such as Marseille (sailing) and Tahiti (surfing).
  3. The official mascot is Phryge, a Phrygian cap that symbolizes freedom and revolution.
  4. The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will have 10,500 places available in more than 329 events in 32 different sports.
  5. Female participation will reach 50% for the first time, compared to 48.8% in Tokyo 2020.
  6. In addition, mixed disciplines will increase from 18 to 22.
  7. Full gender equality will be achieved in athletics, boxing and cycling, raising the number of eligible sports to 28.

A party worth experiencing and seeing!

The opening of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games was a spectacular and unique event, with the ceremony taking place outside a stadium for the first time in history, using the River Seine as the main stage.

The athletes’ parade took place on boats that travelled along the river past iconic Paris landmarks such as Notre-Dame and the Louvre.

The ceremony included impressive artistic performances and fireworks, although rain made an appearance and soaked participants and spectators.

The Olympic cauldron was lit in front of the Trocadero, with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop, officially marking the start of the Games.
