Prime Minister Andrew Holness is calling on residents of low-lying areas to ensure they relocate Hurricane Beryl approaches Jamaica.
The Prime Minister was giving an update on deliberations with government entities in preparation for the hurricane at a post cabinet media briefing at his office on Monday.

While speaking on Monday, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of evacuation for those living in areas susceptible to flooding and landslides.
The Prime Minister says with the limited presence of security forces in the event of the hurricane, Jamaicans in these areas must make the correct call to leave dangerous areas.
The Prime Minister made the call to Jamaicans living in low-lying areas to ensure they find higher ground.
He highlighted areas in eastern Jamaica that are at high risk of damage from Hurricane Beryl.
The Prime Minister says efforts have been made to ensure resources such as food, water and power will be available once the hurricane passes.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Holness says the Disaster Risk Management Act, DRMA, is guiding the government’s methods of preparing for Hurricane Beryl.
Prime Minister Holness says cabinet will deliberate on the extent to which the government will use the powers the act grants them.
He says an update should be available by the end of Monday.
