$39.3 billion. That’s how much money Prime Minister Andrew Holness says will be spent on capital projects for the Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF over the next three years.
The prime minister was speaking Tuesday morning during a contract signing at his St. Andrew office. He says $19.7 billion is to be spent on building police stations.
The contract is for the construction of a state-of-the-art headquarters for the St. Catherine North Police Division. The contract is valued at $2.2 billion.
Prime Minister Holness says the billions being spent on the JCF is still short of what’s required to make up for the years of underinvestment by previous administrations.
