The Management of the National Water Commission (NWC) says it is committed to the speedy resolution of the compensation review issues that have prompted workers, through their union, to issue a 72-hour notice of strike on the company.
NWC workers issued the strike notice on Saturday.
In a statement Monday afternoon, the NWC said it will be attending Monday’s conciliation meeting between itself and the Trade Unions representing its various employee bargaining units at the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, fully committed to working with these partners and the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service to effectively resolve all outstanding matters relating to the Public Sector Compensation Review Process in the shortest possible time.
The commission said while it understands the concerns and anxieties of its staff regarding delays in the implementation of the compensation review, the Management asks for their continued understanding, patience, and restraint as the final details are worked out in a process that is now nearing completion.
According to the NWC management, it hopes that the final remaining concerns can be addressed soon and normality restored without disruption in our essential services to our valued customers and the country.
