The National Water Commission, NWC, says water supply restrictions will remain in place for the areas in Kingston and St Andrew supplied by the Mona, Constant Spring and Hope networks.
The NWC says with very little impact from recent rainfall, the main storage facilities remain significantly below the levels that could facilitate any relaxation of the current measures.
According to the Commission, as of Wednesday, April 5, the Mona Reservoir was at 48-point-5 per cent of capacity and is constantly declining.
The Hermitage Dam, which is the catchment connected to the Constant Spring Treatment Plant, is currently at 39-point-8 per cent of capacity.
The NWC says with the weather forecasts indicating it may be several weeks before the rainy season, restrictions are necessary to minimise a rapid fall in storage levels.
The Water Commission is also indicating that inflows to the Seaview Treatment Plant near Stony Hill have been constantly declining, and this may warrant a revision of the current 6 AM to 6 PM daily supply schedule.
It says monitoring of the systems is a continuous process.
In addition, trucked water will be delivered to the areas that cannot be adequately supplied under the restrictions.
