The National Works Agency, NWA is advising that road rehabilitation works are expected to commence along corridors in St. Andrew, St. Ann and Portland this weekend.
In a statement on Friday, the Agency says road maintenance work will begin along Winchester Avenue in St. Andrew on Saturday January 27, 2024, which will necessitate temporary closure of the corridor.
This closure will take effect at 9:00 am and end at 5:00 pm on January 28, 2024.
Motorists are being advised to use alternative routes during the period of closure.
The maintenance work, which includes milling of the existing road surface and asphaltic concrete overlay, will be carried out over a six week period.
Similar works are also expected to commence along Development Road in the parish of St. Ann on Saturday, January 27.
Motorists are being advised that some delays may be experienced during the two week period of scheduled maintenance.
Work will be carried out between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm daily.
Meanwhile, in Portland, drainage improvement works are scheduled to take place on Sunday, January 28, 2024.
The scheduled repair work will take place along the Churchill Corner to Muir Park corridor between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.
Delays may be experienced by motorists during this period.
Motorists are being advised to obey posted warning signs and follow the instructions of flag persons who will be directing traffic to facilitate safe movement in all affected areas.
