Day 6 of the Telkom Netball League Power Week 1 proved to be one of the most dramatic days of the tournament thus far, with multiple close finishes, statement wins and a thrilling finale that kept fans on the edge of their seats at the Durban University of Technology (Steve Biko Campus) in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal on Wednesday, 29 April 2026.
The headline Division 1 clash between Golden Fireballs and North West Flames lived up to its billing, producing a pulsating contest that went down to the final moments, with North West Flames securing a thrilling 50-49 victory.
Golden Fireballs made a strong start, leading 15-12 after the first quarter, before both sides went into halftime level at 24-24 following a tactical second quarter that saw multiple adjustments.
North West Flames found another gear in the third quarter, opening up a lead and taking a 39-34 advantage into the final period, but the Golden Fireballs responded with renewed intensity, particularly through their midcourt and defensive pressure, cutting the deficit and eventually levelling the scores at 47-47 with just two minutes remaining.
With the match entering the decisive Telkom Supershot period, both teams traded two-point scores in a dramatic finish, before North West Flames held their nerve to claim a memorable win. Jordan Green (GD) was named Player of the Match for her outstanding defensive performance.
In Division 2, Limpopo Lilies claimed their first tournament victory with a hard-fought 49-45 triumph over Eastern Cape Comets, following their 46-46 draw with fellow Limpopo side Limpopo Baobabs on Tuesday.

After trailing 13-10 at the end of the first quarter, Limpopo Lilies made key tactical adjustments, including positional switches and rotations, to take control of the match, leading 27-23 at halftime, and maintained their advantage through the second half, closing out the win with composure.
Free State Sonoblomo produced a resilient Division 2 performance to defeat North West Tshukudu 47-43 in a tightly contested encounter.
After building a 26-21 halftime lead, Free State Sonoblomo were tested by a strong North West Tshukudu comeback that briefly saw the opposition edge ahead in the third quarter, however, a disciplined defensive display in the closing stages ensured Free State Sonoblomo held on for the win.

Western Cape Tornados, the only unbeaten side in their division, reinforced their position at the top of Division 2 with a commanding 63-36 victory over Northern Cape Diamonds. A fast start saw them lead 15-9 after the first quarter, before extending their advantage to 35-19 at halftime.
Their high-tempo attacking play and clinical finishing proved too much for Northern Cape Diamonds, as they maintained control throughout.
