The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday, June 26 announced Shivam Dube as the replacement for injured Nitish Kumar Reddy in Team India’s 15-man squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, starting July 6. India will be led by Shubman Gill in five matches from July 6 to 16 at the Harare Sports Club.
Nitish Kumar Reddy was impressive for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The injury of the 21-year-old will be monitored by medical team of the Indian Cricket Board. The apex body did not reveal the details of the injury.
“The Men’s Selection Committee named Shivam Dube as a replacement for the injured Nitish Reddy in India’s squad for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe. The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring Nitish Reddy’s progress,” the BCCI said in a statement.
He scored 303 runs and took 3 wickets in 13 games for SRH. Nitish bowled over 130 kph consistently.
Nitish won the Emerging Player Award in IPL 2024 even though Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final.
