Cameroon are keying in on Osimhen as Nigeria’s most dangerous player, as Ngamaleu commits a naughty foul catching the Napoli man late.
Nigeria’s bench step forward in anger, appealing for a booking, but the referee tells them off instead of showing one to Ngamaleu.

Less than 30 seconds into the second half, Osimhen is bursting down the right wing isolated against a single defender.
Gonzalez steps in towards the ball and sends Osimhen tumbling to the ground. It looked like a foul but the referee deems it fair.
Osimhen stays down for several moments, seemingly more out of dissent than out of physical pain.

Rigobert Song will be hoping he inspired a response from his side during the break, as Cameroon really struggled to create chances in the first half.

Neither side has been able to create much in this contest thus far. Nigeria have had three shots, all on target, while Cameroon have taken two shots, neither of which were on target.
Cameroon are seeing the majority of possession at a 57 per cent clip, but have yet to trouble Nwabali in Nigeria’s net in any meaningful way.

As we approach the half-time break, they create a rare sustained spell of pressure in the attacking third but only manage to get one cross into the box, which is dealt with by Ekong.

Osimhen is an absolute menace out of possession and keeps making important tackles. This time he catches Cameroon’s defender out, races onto the ball and sets up Lookman for a simple finish. Ondoa makes half a save but the ball manages to trickle over the line!
Even though he didn’t score, it’s Osimhen’s name the Nigerian fans are chanting.

Aina shows off with a lovely rabona, popping the ball up towards a team-mate. The pass doesn’t quite come off, but you have to appreciate the flair.

Magri shows some serious skill to control the ball with his head in a tight space on the side of Nigeria’s box, but he’s surrounded by defenders and can only send a cross into the arms of Nwabali in net.

Cameroon win the ball and midfield and pour forward. Ekambi tries to set up a shot from range just beyond the Nigeria box, but Ekong makes a perfect tackle to dispossess him.
Nigeria immediately set away on a quick counter-attack going the other way, but Cameroon get players behind the ball in time to prevent a scoring chance.

Tolo and Ondoa get their signals crossed as Tolo needlessly concedes a corner, redirecting a Nigeria cross that wasn’t headed towards any attackers.
Lookman whips a dangerous ball into the box, Ondoa punches it clear, but Cameroon fail to clear the danger.
Iwobi sends the ball back in, it pinballs around the box before falling kindly for Ajayi, and he knocks it home amid the chaos!
