Namibia vs England, T20 World Cup Group B match in Antigua, Preview: England will be desperately hoping the rain gods don’t come in their way of qualifying for the Super 8s stage in the ongoing T20 World Cup when they face Namibia in Antigua on Saturday.
Defending champions England currently sit at the third spot on Group B, with three points to their name. Their opening match against Scotland ended in a washout while Jos Buttler and company suffered a 36-run loss in their subsequent fixture, against arch-rivals Australia.
They ended up collecting their first win of the campaign with an eight-wicket thumping of Oman in a match that didn’t even last 20 overs. The Englishmen, however, will need another ‘W’ against Namibia on Saturday if they are to keep their campaign alive.
And it’s not just that — that will also be dependent on the result of the Australia vs Scotland match that takes place on Saturday evening (early on Sunday morning). England will need Australia to defeat Scotland convincingly for them to advance to the next round.
