The NBC2 Hurricane Tracking team is monitoring a weak disturbance near Haiti. Regardless of development, the feature does not pose a threat to Florida as steering currents will push the system away from the United States this weekend.As of 2 p.m. Thursday, the National Hurricane Center said there is a 10% chance in the next seven days a developing storm system could take on tropical or sub-tropical characteristics. Any development, if it is to occur, would happen as the system moves northeast farther away from Haiti this weekend in the region highlighted in yellow.Other than what’s being monitored near Haiti, there are no other regions of concern at this time.
