Liberia Govt Slams Nigerian Pastor’s Economic Crisis Prophecies

The Liberian government has filed an official complaint with its Nigerian counterpart to protest controversial “prophecies” made by Nigerian cleric Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele. During his sermons, the cleric has repeatedly warned of a potential economic and governance crisis for the administration of President Joseph Boakai.

In its complaint, the Liberian government described Ayodele’s remarks as an unwarranted interference in Liberia’s internal affairs and urged Nigerian authorities to review the matter and take appropriate action. The government warned that the pastor’s negative pronouncements could strain diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Members of the Liberian opposition have, however, rejected the government’s position, urging the administration to focus on more pressing national matters.
