Namibia, on the other hand, comes to the start of the COSAFA Cup looking for a win, having gone six games without a victory, losing twice, including a 3-0 loss to Angola in the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations last January.

Angola comes into its first group match with optimism, after having performed well in the two recent World Cup qualifiers (one win and one draw).

This venue, which is established as the home of Chippa United of the Premier Soccer League, has also served to host other events, with the 2010 World Cup being the most important. It also hosted the African Cup of Nations in 2013.

The COSAFA Cup, which is played every year among the teams that are part of the Council of Southern African Football Associations, is taking place in South Africa for the 2024 edition.

It should be recalled that after its foundation in 1997, it underwent certain changes until it became a mini-tournament. The biggest winner of this competition has been Zambia, who, besides being the current champion, has won seven trophies in this competition.
