Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a phone call with Massad Boulos, Senior Adviser to the US President for Arab and African Affairs, to discuss regional issues of mutual interest, with particular focus on developments in Libya.
According to Egypt’s Foreign Ministry, the two sides exchanged views on the latest regional developments and explored ways to support stability in Libya.
Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s support for Libya’s unity and stability, stressing the importance of unifying state institutions and reaching a comprehensive political settlement through a Libyan-led process, underscoring the need to create the appropriate conditions for holding simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible to strengthen stability and meet the aspirations of the Libyan people.
