The prosecution’s fourth witness in the murder trial of Portland Businessman, Everton ‘Beachy Stout’ McDonald, said he was instructed to purchase acid to “dismantle” Mrs. Tonia Hamilton McDonald.
Those instructions, the male witness testified, came from Beachy Stout.
But the witness claimed that he couldn’t go through with the plan because Tonia was very beautiful.
Beachy Stout and another man, Oscar Barnes are accused of Tonia’s murder on July 20, 2020.
Tonia was Beachy Stout’s second wife.
Nora Gaye Banton reports on Day 14 of the murder trial.
The witness said he first met Beachy Stout through a mutual friend in 2019.
This meeting was followed by two others in a car park at a supermarket in Portland.
On the first encounter, the witness said Beachy Stout told him about his wife who was giving him “pure problem”.
The witness testified that Beachy Stout told him that his wife would not come home on most nights.
He then said Beachy Stout told him to get some black acid to dismantle his wife because, “she a give him pure bun”.
The witness said at that time he requested gas money from Beachy Stout and was given 50 thousand dollars.
On the second meeting with Beachy Stout, the witness said he was given 60 thousand dollars to purchase acid.
He said Beachy Stout pointed out his wife to him in his supermarket.
The witness described Tonia as being “a very very beautiful lady, very pretty”
At that time, he said he tried making conversation with Tonia.
He complimented her beauty and she smiled at him.
The witness testified that he purchased the acid in Spanish Town, St. Catherine at a salt factory.
He went back to Portland to meet Beachy Stout with the acid.
He said Beachy Stout tested the acid, smiled and said, “right stuff”
The witness testified that Beachy Stout led him to a hair salon where Tonia was at and told him, “you can do it right deh suh enuh, yuh can burn ar up right yah suh”
The witness said he consented but when he was walking towards her he decided against the plan.
The prosecutor asked “why didn’t you do it?”
The witness responded, “I’m not that type of person and she was too beautiful”.
He said he called a police officer, went to the Port Antonio station and handed over the acid.
He testified that he left Portland and never contacted Beachy Stout again.
The trial will resume on Friday at 10am.
