Head of the Holiness Christian Church, Bishop Dr. Alvin Bailey, is raising questions about the government postmortem done on the body of the Acting Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Correctional Services, Reverend Orville Moore.
Reverend Moore’s body was found hanging from a tree beside the wreckage of his car in Spur Tree, Manchester, on June 1.
He went missing on May 29.
Mahiri Stewart reports.
On Monday, June 12, Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey, revealed that a postmortem done on Reverend Orville Moore determined that he died from strangulation.
He said the police do not suspect foul play at this time.
But the investigations continues.
However, speaking at the thanksgiving service for the life of Reverend Moore on Saturday, Bishop Bailey said his colleague’s family sought an independent autopsy because they were unsettled by the results of the government postmortem.
According to Bishop Bailey, that independent autopsy revealed several inconsistencies.
Bishop Bailey says the private pathologist found two internal injuries on Reverend Moore’s body.
Reverend Moore began working with the Department on February 1, 2003 as a Probation Officer.
He was promoted on October 1, 2017, to Chief Probation Aftercare Officer.
