Heimir Hallgrimson’s search for his first win as head coach of Jamaica’s senior Reggae Boyz continues after today’s 2-1 loss against Jordan in Austria.
Cory Burke gave the Reggae Boyz the lead in the 39th minute from the penalty spot.
Eleven minutes into the second half Mahmoud Al-Mardi scored to make it 1-1.
Ali Olwan scored in minute 63 to give Jordan the win.
The 57-year-old Icelander, who has not won a match since taking the job in September 2022, says his team missed out.
Meanwhile, Hallgrimson named a 23-member squad for the CONCACAF Gold Cup set for USA and Canada from June 24 to July 16.
The Jamaicans will take on USA in their opening match on June 24.
Former Kingston College standout Dujuan Richards who plays for Phoenix All-Stars is the only local based player in the squad.
The squad also features regulars such as Captain Andre Blake, Leon Bailey, Michail Antonio and Damion Lowe.
Hallgrimson is concerned that the team is heading into the tournament with back to back defeats.
