Four men are among those who lost their lives on the nation’s roads on the weekend.
On Saturday, a man died as a result of injuries he sustained after the car he was traveling in overturned on the Long Bay main road in Portland. He is 20-year-old Knoxroy Hewitt, a resident of Rural Hill District in the parish.
Police reports are that about 5 pm, Hewitt was a passenger in a Nissan AD wagon traveling towards Manchioneal when the vehicle overturned.
The occupants of the car were taken to hospital where Hewitt was pronounced dead. Five others were injured in the crash and were treated at hospital.
On the other side of the country, a 29-year-old St Elizabeth man died as a result of injuries he sustained in a crash on the Lacovia main road early Sunday morning.
Dead is 29-year-old Khanija Miller, construction worker and resident of Burnt Ground.
Police reports are that about 2 am, Miller was driving a Nissan Latio when the car veered to the left, made contact with a piece of concrete and then crashed into a tree.
Miller was removed from the car and taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
And in St James, the police have reported that 29-year-old twin brothers Kenroy Miller, otherwise called “Gunny”, and his twin brother, Vinroy Miller otherwise called “Stamma” died when their motorcycles collided. They are from Spot Valley in the parish.
The St. James Police report that early Saturday morning, both men were driving separate motorcycles in opposite directions along the Spot Valley main road when they collided.
They were taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead.
