Phaedra Parks has reclaimed her peach. The reality star confirmed today that she will officially rejoin The Real Housewives of Atlanta seven years after she left the show.
“You called. I answered,” Parks captioned an Instagram photo in which she’s stepping off a private jet with a peach in hand.
The news comes one month after Kenya Moore exited the show mid-way through Season 16 for allegedly displaying posters of newbie Brittany Eady performing oral sex at the grand opening of her Kenya Moore Hair Spa. Moore, for her part, denied engaging in any form of “revenge porn.”
It was reported earlier this month that Parks was negotiating her comeback. According to Love B. Scott, who first reported the news, the Married to Medicine star’s “chemistry” with Porsha Williams at the Watch What Happens Live 15th anniversary special “add[ed] to the desire” for her return. Williams also came back to the show as a full-time Housewife for Season 16, while Cynthia Bailey began filming “more and more” as a “friend of” following Moore’s exit.
Parks, who starred in RHOA from 2010 to 2017, was fired from the show after she admitted at the Season 9 reunion that she spread rumors claiming Kandi Burruss wanted to drug and rape Williams. Despite her controversial exit, the star previously teased that “the door has always been somewhat open” for her to come back in an April interview with Entertainment Tonight.
Along with fans, Parks’ fellow Bravolebrities celebrated the news of her return in the comments section of her announcement.
“About damn time,” The Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge wrote, while her former co-star Gretchen Rossi added, “Wow! You go girl!”
DECIDER contributor Gibson Johns posted, “Fully believe that it was Porsha and Phaedra’s on-screen reunion on the WWHL 15th anniversary special — and the positive fan reaction to it — that helped clinch this #RHOA return for Phaedra. Frick and Frack are BACK!”
Other fans called Parks’ return the “best news ever,” while some gushed, “Yessss, my girl has entered the building. She looks so good.”
The first 15 seasons of The Real Housewives of Atlanta are currently streaming on Peacock.
