Harare, Zimbabwe, serves as the first stop for the Freedom and Prosperity Center’s Women in Prosperity initiative. In partnership with Advisory Council Member Joanna Sharpe, the Center is organizing a two-day event from October 9 to 10, featuring a capacity building conference for emerging women business leaders, followed by a policy workshop identifying trends and proposals to facilitate women’s economic participation.
The Capacity Building Conference on October 9 will feature trainings and knowledge dissemination aimed to equip Zimbabwean women entrepreneurs with the tools they need to succeed. Training sessions will be led by experts on business administration, financial management, leadership, and social media skills development. In addition, the conference will be attended by a variety of women C-suite executives and philanthropists who will lead a roundtable discussion to share their experiences and insights. These industry leaders will also headline our inaugural mentorship program, partnering with selected conference attendees to provide one-on-one mentorship for the next year.
October 10 will be headlined by the policy workshop, gathering local think tanks, government officials, scholars, media partners, and other key stakeholders. The Center will present findings analyzing Zimbabwe’s performance in the Freedom and Prosperity Indexes, discuss strategies for economic growth, and explore how to best create a supportive environment for women entrepreneurs in Zimbabwe.
