The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) said Friday it has removed Angola’s national Olympic committee from its list of organizations that are non-compliant with its updated 2021 code.
Angola had been found non-compliant earlier this year for failing to fully implement the new code within the country’s legal system.
It did not dispute the finding, and in June advised that its national assembly had made the necessary changes to its laws to combat the use of banned substances by athletes in sports competitions.
In a statement WADA said a review confirmed that “Angola had successfully fulfilled the conditions for reinstatement,” and therefore has been removed from the non-compliance list.
Tunisia was also recently dropped from this list, leaving on it at present only the Russian Anti-Doping Agency and the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation.

The sanction bars non-compliant nations or organizations from hosting major sporting events and from flying their flag at sporting events, including at the upcoming Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games in July and August.
