People from across the Diaspora attending the 10th biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference are expressing excitement about what will come out of the talks now underway in Montego Bay.
Scores of people with Jamaican roots, mainly from the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as dozens of Jamaican business people, gathered at the Jamaica Convention Centre Sunday night for the opening reception.
The conference is being held under the theme “United for Jamaica’s Transformation: Fostering Peace, Productivity and Youth Empowerment.”
Nationwide News spoke with some delegates and participants about their expectations from the four-day conference.
Junior Spence was one of them. He lives in London and operates Urban City Solutions which works with troubled youths from across the various ethnicities and nationalities in the UK.
He says his programmes can help with problems among youth in Jamaica too.

Pastor and financial services representative, Bishop Desmond Greaves has come with computers for a school he supports, and hospital equipment even though he says others have been discouraged by Government regulator red tape.
Bishop Greaves says Jamaicans must stop attacking returned residents. He says some have had to pack up and return to the UK.
