Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the JLP has the best record of any political party when it comes to delivering on the promises made to the Jamaican people.
He made the comment while addressing the groundbreaking ceremony for the Resilience Park in Portmore, St. Catherine.
The prime minister’s remarks come as anticipation is building about the announcement of the date for the next local government elections.
The polls are constitutionally due by February 28. Both major political parties have indicated they are ready to contest the election.
Mr. Holness says under his leadership, the JLP wants to put people into position to celebrate achievements, not announcements.
