AFTER making music for close to two decades, DJ and producer DJ Kboz has not slowed down one bit.
He recently told unWrap.online he likes the new wave of artists in the country – not only for their talent, but because they bring new fan bases to the industry.
“Change is inevitable and we have to embrace it and let it run its course because that is what makes music what it is: It keeps changing and new things come in.
“I like their hunger, and I like their work ethic, and I like that they are not only concentrating on the Namibian market, but penetrating other markers as well,” DJ Kboz said.
The ‘Maspenda’ hitmaker said music gets better with every new generation.
He said that he has in recent months changed his approach to producing, concentrating mostly on Afrobeat and amapiano music.
“I have been working with a lot of international artists, including Lady Du, Bootle, Nokwazi, and Murumba Pitch, and I’m also planning to work with Daliwonga when he comes through,” he said.
Locally, DJ Kboz said he is working with many up-and-coming talent, but does not want to reveal too much about his upcoming projects.
“Me and my team are also working with Azmo so he can easily navigate the international market. I’m still working with Sally. There is still more she can offer, since she is still at the beginning stages of her career.
“I’m also doing recordings with DJ Obza and other artists, but I don’t want to say much. I’ve also been mentoring DJ Yessonia, as well as moving into managing influencers,” he said.
