Imanuwela David (left) and Froliana Joseph (right) – allegedly linked to the Phala Phala robbery at President Cyril Ramaphosa’s farm in 2020 – made their first appearance in the Bela-Bela Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo on Tuesday.
Imanuwela David – accused of playing a central role in the brazen $580 000 burglary at President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala game farm – was able to travel freely between Namibia and South Africa while police sought him.
He appeared alongside lodge cleaner Froliana Joseph in the Bela-Bela Magistrate’s court on Tuesday, facing a raft of robbery and theft charges. David also faces an additional charge of money laundering.
A News24 investigation last year revealed that David led a lavish life of fast cars and diamond jewellery, even after he was deported from Namibia – and despite spending months in jail – for illegally entering the country by sneaking over the border in the wake of the robbery.
