Publisher’s Note: Dan Genovese with EnerCom spoke with Anthony Diab and Chris Williams – Co-Founders and Directors with Skeltek/ Rheopectic to discuss Namibia’s oil boom that has attracted international oil giants, including TotalEnergies, GALP, Shell, QatarEnergy, Chevron and ExxonMobil in search of long-term oil supplies following discoveries made in 2022 and 2023.
Exploration success, and significant foreign investment, has accelerated Namibia’s oil and gas sector, with many industry experts comparing the country’s offshore industry to South America’s Guyana. In addition to the offshore success, ReconAfrica (TSXV: RECO) has found success exploring for natural gas in Namibia’s onshore area in the Kavango Basin.
Supporting the oil and gas industry growth in Namibia is Skeltek Industrial Works, Ltd. a Namibian-owned and registered company that is engaged in the leasing of equipment to Schlumberger in support of TotalEnergies, Shell and GALP’s drilling programs in the Orange Basin offshore Namibia and ReconAfrica’s land-based drilling efforts.
In addition, Rheopectic Support Services of Cape Town, SA – a subsidiary of Skeltek – is providing complementary onshore services and equipment to Baker Hughes in Mozambique and Schlumberger in Angola, Gabon and Congo.
To facilitate growth, Skeltek’s highly experienced management team is seeking a US$1M-$2M credit facility to fulfil secured Purchase Orders from Schlumberger, Baker Hughes and ReconAfrica.
Skeltek boasts a true competitive advantage as a local company in Namibia, strong revenue growth underpinned by a customer base of established majors, a secure market position to capture increasing market share in growing region and a full offering of services that establishes Skeltek as the preferred industry supplier.
